The Waking Eyes are a four-piece rock band from Winnipeg,
Manitoba formed from the remains of two now-defunct acts -
The Pets and Novillero. Rusty Matyas, Matt Peters, Stephen
Senkiw and Joey Penner make up the garage-pop, art-rock
band.

Their influences range from the Beatles and Radiohead to
Ween and Nirvana, yet the music they create has an
inexplicably original sound and vibe. Always willing to
experiment creatively the Waking Eyes often rotate their
instrumental duties, but maintain a core set-up with Rusty
and Matt playing guitar and singing, Steve on the drums,
and Joey playing bass. Piano, organ, and other keyboards
are often used to provide the songs with the band's
