trappings of Love This City, an album that Tim now admits
"got a little out of control".
So the band spent March and April last year in a house on
the south coast of NSW arranging the songs together from
scratch. "This is the first 'band' record I've made since
[1995's] Undeniably the Whitlams ", Tim says l More...

------ About the song No Aphrodisiac performed by The Whitlams
I think that tim freedman is about the only singer who can pull this song off. I know it is his song but i have heard other artists try to sing it and it is nothing compared to the whitlams version.

This song is both the best and the worst song i have ever heard. The first time i heard it and actually listened to the lyrics i cried. This album is my therapy, i listen to it when i need to put things into perspective or just feel like crap.

I agree it is a fantatstic song dealing with gambaling issues if only the government would get off their ( use nice words here) butts and do what the song suggests ' blow up the pokies'

This is a beautiful song on a meaningful subject
sadly what tim was singing and writing it was true and this song makes me think alot about what it must have been like in east timor and still is. God bless tim for writing it and God be with those people in east timor. If you agree please post a comment saying so

------ About the song Blow Up the Pokies (1999) performed by The Whitlams
just a brillant song that deals with the very real prblem of exessive gambling
It's happy and upbeat. The bells used in the background are amazing and the slight vocal chorus effect makes Tim Freedman's amazing voice stand out even more.
The lyrics can be quite poignant if you can relate to them. One of their best songs in my oppinion. It's great!
