When I listen to the song I hear "see this broken wave, darkly coming to take me home," and not, "see this rolling wave." That's when it was popular on the radio. The meth references are interesting, and potentially relevant, but not necessary. Who does *not* feel that they live a 'semi charmed' life? I find the song poignant, a reach out beyond the quotidian existence of everyday life, a yearning to eclipse the 'semi-charmed' post-modern lives that we lead. A challenge.
