From the first explosive I-got-you-in my sights delivery of charismatic frontman Stephan Jenkins, to the rolling rhythm section of bassist Arion Salazar and drummer Brad Hargreaves, to the signature guitar work of Kevin Cadogan, you realize Third Eye Blind is working from an inner zip code of evaporating bliss. Their self-titled debut album represents the coda of their do-it-yourself ethic. That is why there is an extra syllable squeezed into some lines, which, to me, makes the song that much more beautiful by giving it more character. This song means so much to me. There is so much passion behind it, and so many people can relate to it, if not to the actual actions and situations in it, people can relate to its meaning and the feeling represented by the wind "blowing outside" and the sun "crashing through the windows" and the feeling of being with someone that you love, but at the same time you know that you will never have that person and you feel completely alone in the world. He would always wake me up at my house because I slept on the couch and I miss it a lot. We're still good friends, but now that he has a girlfriend he acts differently when he's with her and now I realize that I will never have him again, yet I still hold on to the past in hopes that he will come back to me. And the "burning" to me is the chills that run up my spine everytime I think of him and her together. Even though I'm completely alone, I still feel so alive.
