I believe this is Third Eye Blind's best song. It's impossible not to hear and relate to the genuine feeling that Jenkins has as he sings this song. It's just so real to me. It's not a love song, really, not at all. He may be writing about a girl, but I believe it's ultimate purpose is to communicate how alive he feels and that this was the most alive he has ever felt in his life. I think that's what makes it so good. I thought it was cool when I read that he called this song motorcycle drive by because this girl got him so crazy that he had no idea what to do with himself, so he just drove around on his motorcycle. I'd imagine he was trying to escape and reflect on his feelings as he drove into nowhere. The lyrics are clearly incredible and beautifully poetic. I've loved this song for years and listen to it daily. I don't think I could ever get sick of it.

Just because you don't experience addiction doesn't mean other people don't. It's way more than just psychological. Take some med school classes and you'll understand. It laymen's terms, everyone's bodies and minds are physically and mentally different. Drugs alter the bodies chemistry and the body's response will vary. A craving for Meth isn't just psychological, the body undergoes physiological changes as well.

A person's mind is very powerful, and they can overcome addictions, but you obviously have no clue what a truly addictive personality is (and how it exists beyond just a mental capacity). Someone who experiences severe addictions will literally, both mentally and physically, feel like they will die without it.

You wouldn't know this because you don't suffer from it which is fine, do with your life what you like. But to suggest that someone is "weak" for having this involuntary and unavoidable condition is just immature and ignorant. But for you, ignorance seems to be bliss so keep "enjoying" your life.

Seems to me like this guy is singing about all the bad parts I life. He takes a relaxed approach to the death of "Mrs. Jones'" son- leading me to believe he has kind of given up on life. I think he knew life was sad and so he stopped caring so much. I think he sings about the tragedy of poverty and sadness.

The lyrics are well written and blend smoothly with the up-beat rhythm of the song. I'm assuming the situation is he just had a recent break-up with a girl and he feels like they both are headed in the wrong direction now, perhaps without each other. He also is very determined to make something of himself is what it sounds like.

I believe that he is using crystal as a metaphor for his relationship with a girl. The relationship like meth in the beginning was the best feeling, but as time went on no matter how much they tried, they could not reproduce the same "high" as they felt in the start of their relationship.

This song is a feel good song it gives hope to those that need it and it was great in yes man. all in all I think it speaks to people on many different levels you can get what you want out of it. Me it tells me to cut ties with people that influence me to do the wrong thing and quit lying to myself by saying its OK that I can handle the peer pressure
