Lyrics - Trans-Siberian Orchestra Lyrics

Trans-Siberian Orchestra was formed in 1996 by Paul O'Neill
who immediately approached long time friends and
collaborators Robert Kinkel and Jon Oliva to form the core
of the writing team.
While producing and writing for a number of years with
various rock groups Paul was always looking for ways to
make the music have greater and greater emotional impact.
He tried to write the music that was so melodic it didn't
need lyrics. And lyrics that were so poetic that they
didn't need music but once you put the two of them
together, the sum of the parts would be greater than the
whole, and you couldn't imagine them apart. Once he'd done
this, he was still looking for a way to take it to even
greater heights and he realized that putting the songs

The original Canon has become the song of choice for bridal entrances. This rendition may lead it to become the song of choice during the Advent season. Congratulations to the arranger and choral director!

------ About the song What Is Eternal performed by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
I have always favored Mozart's music above Beehtoven's, but this music speaks to me on a very personal, even private level. The degree of emotion in the singer's voice brings a heart to break in the familiarity of his anguish and desperation.
This is my favorite song by my favorite band.

------ About the song Misery performed by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Now THIS is an excellent song. Seriously, Mephistopheles is so sadistic here. He knows that his soul-for-music trade has gone down the drain, so he pulls out a hit-below-the-belt kind of tactic that only the Devil could cook up. However, this is also Mephistopheles's fatal blunder; if Beethoven goes along with the deal (which he ultimately does,) it just goes to show that Mephistopheles never had the right to claim his soul in the first place...
Anyways, the pace of the song is just right, along with Mephistopheles's voice... ooh, it gives me the chills! It fits the song so well! The devil is clearly enjoying this - he's thinking that he's going to win no matter what Beethoven does. Truly wicked!

------ About the song What Good This Deafness performed by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
I simply love this song... even though it's short, it's just plain awesome. The music is energetic and eerie, and Twist's voice seems to fit it perfectly. The fact that he's talking quickly for a few seconds and then talking slowly for the next few only makes it even cooler. A definite masterpiece, if only it was longer...

------ About artist/band Trans-Siberian Orchestra
This was one of the most amazing concerts I have seen to date. I was blown away by TSO's performance. I brought my 82 year old Mother to this concert for her Birthday because when you get that age it is really hard to buy anything they need.
She was delighted and anxious to go out and buy all of their CD's.
The only down side was the best seats we could get were in the nose bleed section so actually seeing faces of the performers was impossible. I was suprised there was no big screen to bring them all up close no matter where you seats were.

------ About the song Promises To Keep performed by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
This is a beautiful Christmas song, with simple, uplifting lyrics and lush orchestration. More people need to hear this song and the message it brings. I'm a middle school choir director and am looking for a choral arrangement of this song to perform as part of our Christmas Concert!

------ About the album Beethoven's Last Night performed by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Far and few between are the albums which evoke much passion from me these days. Beethoven's Last Night is a welcome exception. A true rock opera. I believe this is what the great masters were thinking of, when many of these musical themes were originally written down. Beethoven and Mozart would be proud, I believe, to hear such a wonderful work born out of their originals. This album is art in the truest sense. The best music has always sent chills up and down my spine. This album has done this in almost every piece. The vocals are each true to character and make the story come alive (not to mention that they are technically outstanding as well). The blend of strings with 20th century instrumentation is phenomenal. Electronic amplification with masterful playing ability brilliantly enhances classics as well as new works. I've been playing this CD over and over for a week now, and I'm not near tiring of it yet. A true classic. Beethoven would be proud.

------ About artist/band Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Saw TSO in concert in Charlotte, NC on Nov 18, 2004. This was truly one of the great musical/artistic experiences I've ever had. I've been to dozens of concerts dating back to the early 70's (Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Edgar Winter, Allman Brothers, Doobies, Elton, Pink Floyd, Boston, Blue Oyster Cult, Chicago, etc), I rank this concert/performance as one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. All of the senses were stimulated, emotions were manipulated, and I have no doubt that I've now witnessed one of the finest works of musical art ever performed. The bond the performers developed with the audience (was in a fairly intimate 2400 seat auditorium) was phenomenal. Thank you TSO for truly touching me and my family.

------ About the song The Dreams of Candlelight performed by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
This is a very good ballad. Brilliant use of piano and electric guitar, and the singer has a voice which fits perfectly. The style reminds me a little bit of Jeniffer Rush (sp?). You should have your kids listen to this song when they (again) say that <some casting star being in the charts> can sing well and makes great ballads.
I already had people listen to this who thought Yvonne Catterfeld was a good singer, they said, "Trans" sounds way better.
