We fall down
We lay our crowns
At the feet of Jesus
The greatness of
Mercy and love
At the feet of Jesus
We cry holy, holy, holy
We cry holy, holy, holy
We cry holy, holy, holy
Is the lamb
We fall down
We lay our crowns
At the feet of Jesus
The greatness of
Mercy and love
At the feet of Jesus
We cry holy, holy, holy
We cry holy, holy, holy
We cry holy, holy, holy
Is the lamb
We cry holy, holy, holy
We cry holy, holy, holy
We cry holy, holy, holy
Is the lamb
My Jesus, I love you
I know thou are mine
To thee all the follies of sin I resign
My gracious redeemer
My savior, art thou
If ever I'll love you
My Jesus, 'tis now

Review about We Fall Down (My Jesus, I Love Thee) beautiful song | Reviewer: kishore | 9/19/2008
This beautiful song is all about the worship in heaven, once we reach there.the crowns mentioned here is about the one we get there in heaven.
written in present tense should not be reason to avoiod this song while worshiping jesus.

I never saw this as a song about a heavenly crow, but instead it is about us laying down at the feet of Christ our own rule of ourselves. We are kings of our own domain, but at the cross we surrender all of our power, our own "authority", our own selves. I like to introduce this song in that way as well...that this is an invitation for us to surrender our own selves to Christ...so what Crown do you need to lay down..or what "hat" do you need to surrender?..

The crown stated here is most likely taken in a symbolic, not literal way. I believe that the crown is simply referring to our possessions or something precious to us.
I do not find any error in the lyrics as we sing them at our church. However, I do find an error as it relates to my understanding of the Bible. While we are still on the earth, it is my understanding that we have no crowns to lay down. After we get to heaven, we will have crowns to lay down. Hence, the words should say "we WILL lay our crowns" or WE"LL lay our crowns". Because of what I believe to be a theological error, I find difficulty worshipping while singing the song as written.
