Review about Wilburn Brothers The Wilburn Brothers Belong in the Country Music Hall of Fame | Reviewer: Janet
------ About artist/band Wilburn Brothers
The Wilburn Brothers devoted thirty years of their lives to the promotion of country music. They were active in every phase of country music: entertainers, songwriters, music publishers, talent agents, record producers, and TV stars. All the major stars of their era have been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame with the exception of Teddy and Doyle, Jean Shepherd and Ferlin Husky. It's hard to fathom why some stars of the 80's and 90's have been given their place before these great artists.
The Wilburn Brothers had 30 charted hits during their career. They were fan favorites and had one of the most successful touring acts in the 60s. They hosted the second longest-running country music show on television. Their show ran for 11 years and provided valuable exposure to up and coming stars such as: Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynnette, Crystal Gayle, Johnny Russell, Johnny Paycheck, Mel McDaniel, Don Williams, and on it goes.
The basic criteria for induction into the CMHofF is:
“ A candidate basically is to be judged on the degree of his/her contribution to the advancement of Country Music and on the indelibility of his/her impact.”
As long as worthy artists such as the Wilburn Brothers, who were such great entertainers and ambassadors of country music, are not recognized by the Country Music Hall of Fame, then the integrity and credibility of the CMHoF are questionable.

------ About artist/band Wilburn Brothers
They did so much for the industry, many up and coming artists and writers that the Hall of Fame honor is woefully overdue. They were a class act with fabulous stage presence as well as being successful industry businessmen.
