Oh perilous place
Walk backwards toward you
Blink disbelieving eyes chilled to the bone
Most visibly brave
No apprehended gloom
First to take this foot to virgin snow
I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind ohwowoh
I live the envelope pushed far enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne
destined to serve
destined to roam
Oh ominous place
Spellbound and un-childproofed
My least favorite chill to bear alone
Compatriots in place
They’d cringe if I told you
Our best back pocket secret: our bond full blown
I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind ohwowoh
I am a pioneer naïve enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne
destined to seek
destined to know
Most beautiful place
Reborn and blown off roof
My view: about face whether, great will be done
I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind ohwowoh
I am a groundbreaker naïve enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne
I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind ohwowoh
I am the Joan of Arc and smart enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne
Destined to reign, destined to roam
Destined to reign, destined to roam
Ohahahoohah
Ohahahoohah
Destined to reign, destined to roam
Destined to reign, destined to roam
Destined to reign, destined to roam
Destined to reign, destined to roam

When I got the first Narina film on DVD I listened to this song on the closing credits all through the night. I love how they chose such a deep and grown up song for the film, even though it's a fantasy story.

when i first heard that "voon-der-kin"or,,and i believe that was a german word for"wonderchild".i felt deep inside of my heart...wow so amazing i really like it..more than a love song for me..indeed i can play a big role not for my self but for others as well.which i barely adhere for my dreams to come true..well life is a journey..im just walking on it..all of us are capable to be a wunderkind..
uplifting | Reviewer: faithdiva | 11/1/08
Well i dont speak German nor do i understand it. All i know is when i first heard her say wunderkind i felt my spirit rise in agreement and i felt really special like im somebody not just a face in the crowd and i felt like come whatever im drawing close to God's purpose for my life. to live as a daughter and not as a slave that my life is a journey one that ends with me becoming one with Christ. i'v been a christian long enough to know dat when things happen likd this(the mistake in d pronounciation) its mostly because God wants it that way. if u doubt that then ask yourself
if despite the mistake, the song still ministers to you. if ur answer is yes, then there is no mistake bcos the song has fulfilled its purpose
Breathtaking lyrics---ALMOST the perfect song | Reviewer: MychemFreak | 7/22/08
Indeed, I think that this is Alanis's best song yet, in a lyrical sense. She makes several errors, the most notable being her incorrect pronounciation of the word Wunderkind. But if you look passed that and analyze the moral and the psychological/philosophical insight of this great writer, you'd be as amazed as I am. Basically, the message is about inner-divinity unleashed in a corrupt world, which fits so perfectly into today's governmental stature as it did with Narnia's. I truly love this song, because it reflects on my own life, but also the life of everyone around me, for everybody is a potential 'wunderkind', but unleashing it is the key. And with her mention of bravery, nobility, honor, selflessness -she doesn't actually use these words (excpt. the 1st), I, a philosophical and literary student can see that she has done her homework. Truly, I am happy to see that songs like this, with such a powerful and intellectual message are still writen in today's shallow and superficial world of entertainment. Compliments to Alanis!

Love...Love...Love The Message.Love Alison's voice. But I wish she would enunciate (speak more clearly) Also Alyson says Wunderkind wrong. It's Greman Kind being child like Kindergarden, child garden. It is pronounced Wunderkint. But I do love this song and wish to peaces I was an alto so I could sing along
one (big) problem | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/22/07
It may be a great piece and all that, but it would be a lot better if she had bothered to find out how to pronounce the title of her own song. Wunderkind is a German word. It sort of destroys the song that she keeps repeating it and says it glaringly wrong each time.
There is a sense of loss when the movie ends that echoes the sense of loss when the reading of each book was completed. This beautiful song helps in the transition back to this "world." How lucky we all are to benefit from the gifts of such a wonderful lyricist.
