They begun their career with a remix of Radioheads
“Climbing Up Walls”, after that they did different remixes
for famous artists like Lenny Kravitz, Lambchop and Terry
Callier.

They were originally engineers, 30 year old Henry Binns and
Sam Hardaker. They did some studio work on the side, but
after a while they got tired of sitting on the side and
helping bad pop artists. That’s when they contacted their
good friend and producer for Radiohead, Nigel Godrich, and
asked if he could get hold of something from the giant band
that they could play with. After a lot of hard work they
presented the result to Radiohead, and they were so
impressed that they chose to have the remix as a b-side on
their hitsingle “Karma Police”.

    Review about Zero 7

Numbingly beautiful and serene | Reviewer: Ali
------ About the song This World performed by Zero 7

Zero 7 is known for their great soothing sound that is a composition of up-beat jazz, synthesizers, and instrumentals. Their song "This World" is no exception, only that it is exceptionally phenomenal. Its tingly cool melody strings in, accompanied by soft beats that lull the listener into another realm. "This World" is so beautiful that will bring you to tears.

    Great song. | Reviewer: Murray
------ About the song Somersault performed by Zero 7

I hear a discription of someone who I have been and need to be again someday.

Mike, I'm stealing this quote: "Fate is funny sometimes, Fortune is a comedian. But love is true, and tells all" not because I am a complete unoriginal bastard but it struck a chord in me.

    btw, you will.

------ About the song Somersault performed by Zero 7

My boyfriend had a teacher a few years back who was a music whore. literally. My boyfriend, Ryan was obsessed with him. again, literally. This teacher, Mr. Abbate, gave him over 200 songs to try out because like his old teacher, my boyfriend is a music whore, much like I. Zero 7 was a mist the 200 songs. This band continues to amaze me, even though my boyfriend probably thinks about his eigth grade teacher when he hears it, instead of me, The steady girlfriend.

    ;)

------ About the song Likufanele performed by Zero 7

The part of the song that goes: "From the root to the fruit, thats where everything stops" is from a speech in the documentary about Muhammad Ali. Its a great speech.. You should all see it, and if anybody has it, please post the part with the speech on youtube, i keep searching for it..

------ About the song Distractions performed by Zero 7

I have always loved Sia and Zero 7. I was first captivated by Destiny and now this. Love it so much, I am trying to learn how to sing the last paragraph/stanza/chorus x repeat(whatever it is) in tune haha.

It's Growing On Me... | Reviewer: Kally
------ About the song Somersault performed by Zero 7

Now I'm not normally a person for the wandering vocals, it does kind of get on my nerves - but this song is really growing on me, especially now I can decipher the lyrics.

My boyfriend is madly in love with Zero 7. And this song at least is growing on me. =)

Note to Mike: You'll find someone amazing. I promise. And even if they end up leaving, you will never forget how you felt when you were with them. And I wonder why you have not found that girl yet, becuase you sound a very nice young man! =)

I am 15 and even though its probably just childish adoration, I feel as though I have met the most amazing boy in the world. SO not that he'll ever read this, but I love you, George. MOre than anything I have ever known and I always will. I could drink a case of you, 'cause you are the music in me. =)

    Go Zero 7! xDD

In the waiting line no more... | Reviewer: Chris
------ About the song In The Waiting Line performed by Zero 7

The singer's name is Sophie Barker. She composed most of the songs on the album "simple things". I used to think that it was Sia Furler singing "In the waiting line" too until I did a little research. -I love the song "home" (reminiscent of Bjork's "hunter") with Tina Dico on vocals (gorgeous, Danish singer/songrwriter). What's so interesting about this band is how they were hiding out in the early 90's it seems working on something different. It was almost as if they were building a subtle time-machine that would gather hand picked essences from sparse musical elements of the past and present and blend them into one. This fuse of genres resounds with what I would describe as a crisp clean contemporary sound, none the less unique. I think the end result is a combination of electronica, alternative and jazzy arrangements. The lyrics and music are both fresh and atmospheric. I just hope they don't eventually fall into the All-American mainstream scene (if that hasn't already happened). Cool Fact: Zero 7 got its name from a night club in Honduras. Plus, you gotta love a band that shares the stage with such talents as Jose Gonzalez (Swedish/Argentine, biochemistry student/singer/songwriter) and Australian Rockstar Sia Furler. I think the lyrics submitted are on point by the way. Good job Shayla!

Ndebele / Zulu | Reviewer: Zulu Ntombi
------ About the song Likufanele performed by Zero 7

They are singing in Ndebele / Zulu (South African languages) which are dialects like German/Austrian. Likufanele means it's suits you. It's such a beautiful song.
They say "lizwana...likufanele". Which means to communicate nicely with one another and understand what each person is saying because we are the same and it's more suitable for us. It suits you, it suits us.

Anonymous | 10/20/2008 shows just how important language is. We may say or hear different things but in essence they are the same, no matter the language. Which is why music is so beautiful and our greatest gift.

translation to the choir | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Likufanele performed by Zero 7

from my point of view, likufanele represents the greatness of life itself. our responsability with our surroundings. i think they are singing in spanish what sounds like "con mis hermanos, hermanas" which means "with my brothers, with my sisters, likufanele"

    Never loved | Reviewer: Mike
------ About the song Somersault performed by Zero 7

Maybe it's because I'm young (16), but I've never experienced these things before. I've always dreamed of sharing my heart with a girl, but never got the chance.

Fate is funny sometimes, Fortune is a comedian. But love is true, and tells all.

------ About the song Likufanele performed by Zero 7

we get up in the morning feeling tired, sometimes we feel good, sometimes bad, but we go through it with feeling. we go through and through, thats the way everything´s done, what do you think its about? dont stop.

my only guess, love the trippy flavour, it makes me want to scream out the top of my loungs with 50 other people unplugged backed up by huge amps to make it sound like this.

Lyrics to Likufanele | Reviewer: Bexley
------ About the song Likufanele performed by Zero 7

In the firelight your eyes are stars of summer in the firelight your eyes are stars of summer in September in your eyes harvest moon in the firelight your eyes are stars of summer. In your light lies soft as gold of summer in your light lies soft as gold of summer in September in your eyes harvest moon in your light lies soft as summer gold. There's a pilot waving past the rain as I'm sliding down the passages of your brain. In the firelight your eyes are stars of summer in the firelight your eyes are stars of summer in September in your eyes harvest moon in the firelight your eyes are summer's stars. There's a pilot waving past the rain as I'm sliding down the passages of your brain

    The vocalist | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song In The Waiting Line performed by Zero 7

If I had to guess on a vocalist, I would say Sia Fuller.
But I'm not 100% sure on that.
    I love this song.
It fits with the scene in Garden State, too.
